About us
Glebe Farm is a family friendly visitor attraction set in the pretty village of Astbury, south Cheshire, and it’s the kind of place that’s easy to lose a whole afternoon in. Wander the paddocks and say hello to our alpacas, donkeys, ponies and goats, hop aboard the tractor and trailer for a trundle round the fields, or let the little ones loose on the play area while you keep half an eye on the pigs next door.
When you need a breather, there’s a coffee shop to sit down in, and a farm shop, butcher’s and fishmonger’s if you fancy picking something up for later. Dotted around the barns and outbuildings you’ll also find a lovely mix of independent shops and businesses, each one run by people who genuinely love what they do, so there’s always something new to discover.

Tractor rides
Fancy a slow weekend out with the family? Come and jump on our tractor and trailer for a proper trundle round the fields here at Glebe Farm, taking in all our animals along the way; alpacas, donkeys, ponies, goats and more.
Rides run Saturday and Sunday, 10:30am until 4pm. Times can move a little if we’re working the fields or have a pre-booked farm experience on, so it’s always worth checking with us on the day.
It’s just £2 a head, and as always, entry to the farm and parking are completely free.
Animal Feeding
Feeding the animals is one of the best bits of a visit to Glebe Farm, especially for the little ones. The alpacas, donkeys, ponies and goats would love to see you, and it’s free to come in and free to park.
Here’s how it works:
- Pellets come from the dispenser outside the farm shop. It only takes £1 coins, so pop a few in your pocket before you set off.
- Chopped carrots come in bags from inside the farm shop, and you can pay by cash or card.
A few things we need you to know, for the animals’ sake. Please only feed them what you’ve bought from us; nothing from home, and no whole veg, fruit or bread from the farm shop either. Whole carrots especially are a big choking risk, and we like to keep an eye on what everyone is eating. Some of our animals can’t be fed because of their diet or health, so if that’s the case, there’ll be a sign on their pen. Do have a look before you hold anything out.
Play Area
Our outdoor play area is free to use and sits right next to the pig pen and bird display, so little ones can climb, slide and swing while keeping an eye on some of the animals too. You’ll find swings, a climbing frame and slides, perfect for letting the kids burn off some energy between everything else there is to see.
