Tara Roots

Jo spent years working in care and health coaching, and she kept noticing the same thing. People were tired, busy, and not taking care of themselves. Tara Roots grew from that. It’s a shop built around natural products and wellbeing, and there’s a lot in there to explore.

 

The range covers natural, chemical-free body products: handmade soaps, bath salts, essential oils and perfumes. There’s a loose leaf tea station stocked with black, green and white teas from around the world, each with notes on their health benefits, along with teapots and infusers if you’re just getting started. For the home, water features, diffusers, incense burners and a lovely selection of lights including the glass dome ones that have become a real favourite. The clothing is ethically sourced cotton supporting cottage industry in Nepal, alongside natural hats, bamboo socks from the Hop Hare range, and for festival season, the felted mushroom hat. There’s a handmade felt mobile and bell string collection for children too. Jo’s personal pick is the planets and spaceman one.

 

Then there’s Shiftwave. It’s a wellness chair that combines gentle full-body vibrations, guided breathing and immersive audio, all working together to calm the nervous system and ease stress. Think of it as guided meditation, breathwork and deep relaxation all in one. Sessions are available in store, and it’s one of those things you really have to try to fully appreciate.
